I was genuinely choked up this morning when I heard that Luciano Pavarotti had died. I was very fortunate to hear him perform live on one occassion. When I lived in New York, I went with a group of friends from school to Pavarotti's concert in Central Park. I couldn't see him on the big screens, never mind see him in person, but it was enough to just hear him, to experience that glorious voice sailing across the air of a summer's night.
