Friends, Romans is proud to present another installment of its continuing series, Poetic Interludes.
Ode to A Wet Sweater in Autumn
Oh wet comely sweater
lying there on the ground,
thou cursed thing,
lost and never found.
Once you were fuzzy,
Once you were warm
Now you lie on the sidewalk
As pedestrians swarm.
You lowly state hurts me,
So much I feel ill.
Would it have been all that much
to drop you off at Goodwill?
But no here you are
amongst those walking and bicycling
I hope that the city,
picks you up for recycling.
