DATELINE: Friends, Romans

LOS ANGELES - Legal representatives for Disney confirmed today that should Rosy [Zesty’s niece] continue to go by the name “Tinkerbell” they will vigorously pursue a copywright infringement charge.

“Well it was better than ‘Strawberry Shortcake’” Miss Rosy noted at her press conference this morning. “Besides, ‘Rosy’ isn’t a REAL name anyway. I like Tinkerbell. And if Disney doesn’t like it they can stick bubblechops!”

Miss Rosy then demanded that someone in her entourage get her some chocolate milk, while her legal representative, Cheer Bear, lead partner of Snugglesworth & Candyheart, spoke to reporters.

“Disney isn’t trying to be mean,” he noted “and young children wanting to use a different name isn’t unusual. I’m sure this can all be resolved with some cookies and a few hugs.”

Legal experts are closely monitoring this case. Should Miss Rosy be victorious in her response to Disney’s infringement charge, the effect could be siesmic. One expert noted that a victory for Miss Rosy could potentially open a new round of litigation in terms of the rights and entitlement status of imaginary friends.
