I wrote a really whiny blog last night, which I ended up deleting this morning.
I hate it when I do that, and I do it when I'm feeling worn out, done in or both.
So I'll be back in a bit. Just not sure when.

It's Hard Out Here for a PMP
That's Project Management Professional y'all.
I'm studying my Project Management Body of Knowledge this week for my course next week, so time to blog is at a premium. I'll do my best to keep up date.

YouTube Tomfoolery Part III
Well I figured out what was wrong. For whatever reason, YouTube has stopped automatically placing the clip code with the embedding code. You just get parameter code now it would seem.
Me=smart.
Sometimes it's the small victories that make all the difference.
Oh, and someone should tell ALDO that the 80's called. They want their shoes back.

Brain Drain and Lil Buddies
I ended today on a somewhat sour note. I'd had a day full of meetings and my brain was just fried. In fact, my boss and I were supposed to meet at 3 and as he was in most of my meetings today, he asked if we could reschedule. Needless to say I was more than happy to oblige.
As I have wheels again, I decided to go into Sears and see if I could get some clothes, but for some reason, I just couldn't go to the Plus size section. It makes me feel like I did when I was a kid. While all the other girls got to wear cool Road Runner jeans, I had to get clothes in the Pretty Plus section and they just seemed lamer than what the other girls wore.
I've never enjoyed shopping for clothes.
So despite the fact that what I have is essentially threadbare and I wear the same three outfits a week, I just to hell with it and went to the grocery store to get some dinner. The Marine was planning on going to his martial arts class [although later on he decided not to go, thwarting my desire to have an evening filled of cheesey girly television shows - curses!]
I stumbled across a product call Lil Buddies. It a chocolate icecream sandwich but it's made with soy milk, has all natural ingredients, not too much sugar, more carob than cocao and it's fat free! Between that and my organic pizza I did well. Still, I picked up a copy of People's latest as the cover article features people who've lost more than 100 pounds.
Sometimes you just need some inspiration when your destination seems so far away.

YouTube Tomfoolery Part II
As usual, I should be more clear.
When I pick up the embed code I get something like:
05/20/2007 - I'm taking this code out because it's buggering up my blog in Firefox.
This isn't what I usually get and needless to say, it doesn't work.
I am confounded and perturbed Romanship.

Big Berry is Back
Today ended on a high note. Lord only knows it could have only improved.
I went to my osteopath first thing. That was good and he got the ache out of my left wrist that I'd had for two weeks. But afterwards, I had to change into my office clothes and when I knocked on the bathroom door some guy said "hello?" and I said "Oh sorry." and waited.
And I just knew.
Sure enough, dude had dropped a caramel and the STANK Y'ALLl!! Damn well smelled like something had crawled up and died inside that dude!
So then I get on the subway and get to work and today was ok although I was tired and really struggled to get anything meaningful done. I wish I was paid to just show up and look pretty yah know?
Anyhow on the upswing, the Marine got paid a day early and he called and said he was taking Big Berry to the mechanic's. He called a while later and said that the mechanic thought a cover of something was lose but he was going to check. Two hours later it was ready, but the receptionist seemed confused and as I am also easily confused I asked aforementioned Marine to meet me there as I was unsure if we in fact had to pay, cause on the call the price went from $300 to free in about 30 seconds.
The Marine tells me to call when I'm on the bus platform at Dundas West so we can drive up together. After 40 minutes of hell, I of course completely forget my conversation with the Marine and get right on the bus and then call. So the Marine says he'll meet me at the auto shop. Then I get off one stop early and it starts to really pour with rain and I get soaked.
But it didn't matter, cause I was getting my wheels back. I admit it. I'm a public transit pussy. Two weeks of people's inane cell phone yammering, loudmouth convos, smells, coughs, shoves and other general depredations has threatened to send me over the edge.
Thank God it is mercifully over. And the car repair was free! SNAP!

But It's So Tweet and Tasty!
I fantasized about popsicles all day today.
I'm now in day two of my new regime. After my lost weekend, I had a long talk with myself, decided to cut the crap and just buckle down with eating better. So far, so good.
When I wasn't feeling well though, I had asked the Marine to see if he could get me all juice popsicles. He couldn't, but since we have a popsicle kit at home, he got me Dole's mango, pineapple and peach juice.
And may I just say OH. MAH. GUH.
It is so deliciously decadent. And the best part is if I have four, it's still only 1 cup of juice! But the down side is that eventually, I've got to lessen the amount of sugar in my diet and kiss my beloved popsicles goodbye.
Pray, not yet dear delectable homemade goodie.

Just Like Brian Wilson Did
I've basically been in bed since Saturday afternoon.
The weekend started off with glorious weather and although a little tired, the Marine and I went to The Victory Cafe for brunch. We wanted to go somewhere we hadn't tried before and it didn't disappoint.
Saturday was also Yard Sale Heaven, so of course the Marine was in his element. We stopped at a couple and the Marine scored a beautiful singer sewing machine for 15 dollars. It's perfect for him because he likes to get work pants second hand because they're basically trashed within two weeks, but he always needs to shorten them or let them out or whatever.
Or as the Marine would put it: "Sewing machine. Lose 2 hetero points."
So we got back, and by about 2 pm, I could not, I mean COULD NOT keep my eyes open. I went to bed and have basically been there ever since, rising only for "the essentials", the odd bit of telly and emailing my work to let them know I won't be in. It's only been today that I've felt somewhat human again.
The only thing I can put it down to is my sinusitis, because the trees are blooming and the air is full of crap. Granted it's all natural, cycle of life, pollenascious stuff, but as far as my nostrils are concerned, it's crap. The front of my face feels like it's been roto rootered.
And I'm exhausted. Now I know why last week I felt so draggy. But I feel as if my sinus spidey sense was off. I should have seen this coming but I didn't. I should have realized that with my mum in hospital and my work schedule being what they are that something was up when my appetite started to plummet. But I put it down to coming out of the winter blues, being busy of late, needing a break whatever, not my sinuses.
Maybe it's all of that.
I just don't do "sick" well. I don't mean to imply that everybody else loves it, but by default I end up infusing it with more meaning than it has. I need to actively work to remind myself that I will get well again and not be so down about the fact that I'm not 100% cause even when I'm 100% it's not 100% if you know what I'm talking about. [I know Ragdoll and Hassan do] I just get this sinking feeling that I am losing even more time than I already have.
I wonder sometimes when I'll have more energy for something other than my job. There it is. I said it.
I mean I love my job and I love the people I work with, but damn, this livin' weekend to weekend shit has got to go. There is so much more I want to do and be.
So I'm retrenching, and starting to look at my diet first and get that cleaned up. Then I'm going to exercise more.
Well that's the plan now that I've finally emerged from bed. Baby steps y'all. Baby steps.

Draggin' It
This week’s been a bonefide knuckle dragger so far. Ever have those? Surely you do.
Sleep yet wake up feeling like you need 6 more hours?
Incessantly crave ice cream?
They bring your coffee and your first thought is “You don’t have an I.V. of that?”
I’ve been fantasizing about my upcoming trip to the spa. Where should I go? What should I have buffed and puffed? [I was just on the threshold of the “too much info” area wasn’t I? LOL!]
In addition, my craven and nihilistic affair with Pepsi Cola continues.
I tell ya, a Pepsi, a Midol, and it’s a whole new day.
I was on a conference call at work, well what seemed like several actually. I was joking about one with a colleague, asking what the hell did need to be on the call for, etc, etc. Ended up two questions came up that only I could really speak to. Go figure. I have days like that where I don’t feel so irrelevant.
But most of the time I find myself dreaming about staying home and writing all the time. That Cotswold Cottage keeps coming back.
Gotta get on that.
