Hmmmm....
I had to take public transit this evening, which made me ever more grateful for my car because I simply can't stand being around people who are ill mannered dumbasses.
Is that snobby?

Beach Baby
Well, sorry it's been so long between updates but this past week was really tiring. I had my voice over work on Wednesday [went very well] and then a company party to go on Thursday night. Saturday involved a road trip to Long Point Provincial Park so Rosy could have a day at the beach. As you can see, we had a lovely day for it. More to come later when I'm somewhat awake!

Mulberry Bush
Right now it's 11:39 p.m. and someone down the street is banging away on something. It sounds like a dismantlement of some kind. How cruelly the more yobbo aspects of this neighbourhood continue to assert themselves like a fungus on too old bread.
I'm still up because I'm avoiding sleep and I'm avoiding sleep because going to bed will bring tomorrow soon enough, and frankly I can't be bothered.
Hassan wrote about feeling like everyone around you is crazy although on a far more compelling level than I'm feeling. Nevertheless, today was relentlessly frustrating, one of those days that made me wonder why I bother.
I cling ever closer to the notion of an office free future.

Sing, Sing a Song
Romanship, today something happened that I had secretly reconciled myself to the possibility of never happening.
I am getting paid to sing! I bagged another voice gig and I'm doing it this week! Step by little step I am getting closer to my dream and I achieved one of my New Year's Revolutions!
I really can't believe in some ways how much my life has changed this year. I have a new job, a new hard won confidence in myself, and an acceptance that life fundamentally changes all the time. Ten years of bad luck turns in one, people you thought were good friends find other friends instead, you think you'll be in the same job forever - until you're not, relatives you thought were untouchable have strokes.
But I think fundamentally what I've "gotten" is that my life is ultimately my own responsibility. At some point, the statute of limitations on your bad childhood runs out and it's just you getting out of bed every day to make something happen.
I'm a bit tired and worn out right now, as I have a lot going on. But I'm really do feel that if I just try my best, if I just keep going, no matter what some good things will happen.

The Marine, Wordsmith At Large
One of the things I love most about my spouse is his wit. Not only is his hotness second only to the sun itself, I have for the most part averaged a good belly laugh every day of the nearly nine years we've been together.
The Marine has that uncanny ability my paternal Grandfather also had, that being a knack for renaming items in a humorous manner and despite the fact that some of his renaming seemingly had no connection to its source, we all instinctively understood him. For example, we all just knew that when he spoke about that "Winnie the Pooh" on T.V. that he was referring to Oprah Winfrey.
Thus in this vain, for your enjoyment I present Marine Misnomers.
One of my favourite authors is Diana Gibaldon, who writes the Outlander series. The Marine calls her Dinah Gaboon.
LuluLemon is Foo-Foo Fun Wear
I used to eat little fibre laden treats called Bran Buddies. The Marine called them Bum Chums.
The Marine also has great turns of phrase. I really should start collecting quotes. Two of my favourites are:
"There's no way I'm going out in the rain for some goddamned psychic."
And when we got our new alarm system:
"ADT Security. Because some people are thieving f*%kers."
It's a pity he was born too late for vaudeville.

Hmmmm....
Sometimes in life, you just need to smack some sh*t down and today was one of those days.
To destress, I went and worked out.
Yes you read that right. I worked out.
Why? Cause I have the energy.
Why? Cause since I've stopped eating gluten, I actually eat a meal and am not starving two hours later. I think my body is finally getting the full benefit of the food I'm eating.
It looks like Operation Pudge Nudge is back in full effect.

Well, So Much For That Idea
How do I say this?
I would love to go to the party, but it's not worth the hangover.
Therefore I am not on vacation next week.
Hell I've waited this long. What's another 3-4 weeks?
And I'm in for a few hours tomorrow. I'm going through my usual seasonal transition where I drag my knuckles. I was oh so efficient this week - not - so I'd rather sleep in and have 2-3 uninterrupted hours to get things done.
The things I do for money. LOL!

Is That Friday I See On The Horizon?
Today was substantially better Romanship. A good night's sleep can remedy a multitude of ills. I was feeling good enough to start working out again! I went today over my lunch, and did the treadmill for 40 minutes.
I think I'll stick at this for a month and then start increasing my activity or perhaps add in some weights. I just need to maintain my patience. More than likely, I'll probably have to contend with my usual nemesis of a chest cold or something of that ilk, but I'll just need to keep going this time and ride it out. It is what it is.
I've also booked a week's vacation next week. I'm hitting the six month mark with no substantial time off of any kind and given the fact that everyone else seems to be taking time off I thought what the hell? It's the only good window until mid-September and frankly, I don't think I can wait that long.
I'll be spending a week at home, sleeping in, watching movies and catching up on life. Here's to Friday.
Oh. And working on my new play. But more on that later.

Puddled and Befuddled
I had one of those days where I went in with guns blazing. Today was the day! Pow! Pow! I'd get so much done! Pow! Pow! I had a list of ten things! Pow! Pow!
I got two done.
I had a terrible night's sleep and the air was muggy and thick as a cotton ball all day long. The rain this evening has been relentless.
I really do have stuff to write about. Just can't get my brain in gear
On the upswing: two weeks gluten free! Pow! Pow!

Long Weekend
We've got an extra day off here in Canada for Simcoe Day. Personally it couldn't come soon enough. My voice was starting to go by the end of the week which is a sure sign I'm tired.
I'm trying to rest up and chill out, but am still achy from the gardening I did yesterday. There's always so much to do around here and I'm trying to avoid heading back to work feeling like I spent my whole weekend doing chores.
I'll blog in a bit, but for now, another cup of coffee is in order.
